This website is for Multimedia Composition, an upper-division English Writing course at the University of Colorado Denver (Spring 2012). The issues that bring me to teach this course are: Why is technology imagined as an alternative to writing, rather than fundamentally changing it? Who can access the web and who can’t? Are we really living in a “increasingly visual world,” and if so, what happens to the other modes? When will multimedia writing take over the planet (has it)? There’s a million other reasons too, such as whether it’s a problem if I can no longer remember how to write a cursive Z (click on the paper clip above for more on this important issue).
This first page will morph into the course blog – this is just the first entry. Stay tuned… — Amy Vidali, PhD, Assistant Professor of English, Director of Composition, University of Colorado Denver
